Retired Members

Become a UNISON Retired Member

As a UNISON member, you benefited from the essential cover that membership of the union gave you.  Now that you’ve retired you can still have access to the range of benefits and deals and, if you wish, play an active part in your Union by becoming a Retired Member.

It only costs just £15 to become a Retired Member for life.

This one off payment means you can still participate in UNISON’s democracy and have a voice on issues that matter to you.  You will benefit from a wide range of exclusive member discounts that can save you and your family money when you are shopping, buying insurance or looking for a holiday.

UNISON works with other pensioner organisations in the UK and across the world so can give you plenty of opportunities to campaign on issues that are important to you.

You qualify to become a Retired Member if you were a UNISON member continuously for at least two years on the day you retired.

Croydon Retired Members Group

In Croydon we have well over 500 Retired Members and organise an annual re-union and AGM, usually at Ruskin House.  You will be represented at the Croydon Branch Committee; at the London Regional Retired Members Group and at the National Retired Members Conference.  You remain entitled to attend the AGM of Croydon Branch.

On your behalf we campaign on the many pensioner issues – Elder Abuse and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguarding Orders are two of the current ones.

You will receive copies of the London Regional Retired Members newsletter and details of activities that we hope to arrange from time to time.
